Cambodia bagged bagged 16 medals, including 1 gold, 7 silver and 8 bronze, bringing the total medals gained by the Kingdom to 23 (3 gold, 9 silver and 11 bronze).

This haul almost tripled the medal tally of Sunday where Cambodia had 8 medals, including two gold.

The gold medals were obtained in Women’s Long Jump T64, 3×3 Women’s Wheelchair Basketball, and Women’s T44 / 64 400-meter Race.

Cambodia remains at the 8th place among 11 participating countries on the Medal Table, before Timor-Leste with 5 medals (2 silver and 3 bronze), but behind Singapore with 17 medals (4 gold, 7 silver and 6 bronze).

Indonesia continues to top the list with 142 medals (62 gold, 49 silver and 31 bronze), while Thailand jumped to 2nd rank with 98 medals (34 gold, 41 silver and 23 bronze) followed by Vietnam with 94 medals (29 gold, 26 silver and 39 bronze).

Malaysia, the Philippines and Myanmar occupy the fourth, fifth and sixth places with 53 medals (23 gold, 17 silver and 13 bronze), 46 medals (13 gold, 16 silver and 17 bronze) and 19 medals (6 gold, 8 silver and 5 bronze), respectively.

Laos sits at the bottom of the list with 5 medals (1 silver and 4 bronze), preceded by Brunei Darussalam with 2 medals (1 gold, 1 bronze).

The 12th ASEAN Para Games 2023 was officially opened on June 3 under the motto “Sport: Live in Peace”.

To take place until June 9, the regional para games accommodate 14 sports including Athletics, Badminton, Boccia, Chess, 5-a-side Football, 7-a-side Football, Goalball, Judo, Powerlifting, Swimming, Table Tennis, Siting Volleyball , Wheelchairs Basketball, and E-sports (Demonstration) with 431 sports events at the Morodok Techo National Stadium, National Olympic Stadium and other courts in Phnom Penh capital.

At the 11th ASEAN Para Games in Solo, Indonesia in 2022, Cambodia grabbed 28 medals (7 gold, 10 silver, and 11 bronze).
